During the record run, Jaime posted a record 661:01 scoreless minutes in net, finally relinquishing a single goal to No. 19 BYU on Sept. 14. She was named the conference's player of the week for the first time in her career on September 11, after leading the Tigers to their sixth consecutive shutout and garnering the Four Points Sheraton Cats Classic tournament Defensive Most Valuable Player award. For the entire 2006 season, Souza and her defense relinquished just 14 goals against, shattering their previous best of 19 goals against set in 1999. Additionally, she posted eight shutouts throughout the season, tying for the third highest total in team history. In goal, Souza tallied all eight shutouts for the Tigers, also tying her for the third highest single season individual total in Tigers' history. She compiled a 0.74 goals against average, the all-time best single season average in program history, and a career-high 82 saves on the year while playing all 1691:54 minutes in goal for Pacific. In addition to her stellar defense, Jaime posted her second career assist as she initiated the Tigers' game-winning strike against Air Force on September 3, in Pacific's 3-0 victory.2005 (Sophomore):<Br>In her second season as a Tiger, Jaime continued to prove to be one of the top goalkeepers in the Big West Conference as she garnered All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition for the first time in her career. Despite being hampered with a shoulder injury throughout the entire season, Souza played in 19 and started 18 of Pacific's 20 games in net in 2005. On the year, Jaime posted 78 saves and a 1.05 goals-against average. Not limiting herself to just stopping shots, Souza got into the offensive scorebook, notching her first collegiate assist on August 28 as she set up the game-winning goal from her goal box as the Tigers took down San Francisco, 2-1, in overtime.2004 (Freshman):<Br>In her first season at Pacific, Jaime took over the reigns of the Tigers' defense, earning the starting goalkeeper job at the beginning of the season. Making the most of her first season in goal, Jaime tallied three shutouts while tallying a 5-3-3 record. Jaime posted 77 saves on the season while totaling a 1.27 goals-against average. After leading the Tigers to a perfect 2-0 record at the Nike Invitational, Souza was named to the all-tournament team after relinquishing just one goal.High School:<Br>Jaime attended Gig Harbor High School in Gig Harbor, Wash., where she was a two-sport athlete, earning one letter in track and four in soccer. While playing for the Tide, Jaime was named to Washington's All-State team during her junior and senior seasons. Additionally, she was named her team's MVP in her final two seasons.Club Team:<Br>Souza has been on the Washington State ODP team and has been selected as part of the regional pool. She played club for the WSC Parrots, who were the 2001 and 2004 state champions and 2002 and 2003 state championship finalists. Jaime was instrumental in three additional state titles while playing for the F.C. Royals from 1995-99.Personal:<Br>Born in Longview, Wash., she is the daughter of John and Mary Souza. Jaime has two older siblings, Jackie and Jonathan. Jaime will graduate with a degree in communication and begin graduate work this fall.
